Dear Members and Friends of SIDO,

It is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to attend the 56th SIDO International Congress, which will be held in the prestigious setting of the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, from November 20 to 22, 2025.

The theme of the event is highly relevant and carries significant clinical implications: personalized and patient-centered orthodontics for effective, efficient, and safe treatments.

Thursday November 20 will be dedicated to the traditional pre-congress courses, which will include two one-day courses held by Luis Carriere and Ana Maria Cantor, and by Benedict Wilmes. In addition, there will be two practical hands-on courses specifically designed for younger colleagues: one in collaboration with the Italian Society of Biomechanics and Segmented Orthodontics (SIBOS), and the other on in-house aligners. The day will conclude with the Opening Ceremony followed by a Welcome Reception in the Trade Exhibition.

The scientific program on Friday, November 21, and Saturday, November 22 will unfold across two main lecture halls:

1. Personalized and patient-centered orthodontics (Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22), with a focus on the role of individual characteristics and the active involvement of the patient in choosing the most appropriate treatment, in order to meet their clinical, esthetic, functional, and economic expectations.
2. Aligner treatment uncovered: what can we really expect? (Friday), a clinical-scientific discussion based on the findings of an International Delphi Study (Consensus Conference), following the successful format introduced at the Spring Meeting. Once again, the Delphi Study will provide authoritative guidance for our members, a solid reference for speakers, and a valuable basis for in-depth discussion.

On Saturday morning, we will host also a SIDO–SIdP multidisciplinary course on the Treatment of gummy smile, showcasing and comparing orthodontic, periodontal, and maxillofacial surgical approaches.

Throughout all scientific sessions, participants will be encouraged to interact directly with the speakers via the SIDO Eventi App, by submitting questions and actively contributing to the discussion, facilitated by moderators.

Special attention will be given to young professionals, with initiatives developed by the SIDO Young Committee, to foster their enthusiasm and support their professional growth.

And of course… there will be no shortage of social moments! The President’s Reception and the SIDO Party will take place in the evocative setting of Stazione Leopolda, offering a lively and charming atmosphere to celebrate together.

I look forward to welcoming you all to Florence, from November 20 to 22, 2025, for a Congress rich in content, exchange, and inspiration. It will be a valuable opportunity to share experiences, grow professionally, and strengthen our sense of community.
